UGC NET 2014 Online Application
UGC NET is commonly known as University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test. It is the entrance examination for the Post Graduate holder candidates who want to go for teaching line jobs in university level and Fellowship for PhD degree research programs. UGC conducts NET twice in a year where First one in the month of June and other one is in the moth of December. The UGC NET 2014 1st will likely to be held in the last week of June 2014. Candidates who wish to apply for it can be able to get the information booklet by the 2nd week of February, 2014. The application process will be both online and offline. Candidates must meet the eligibility to apply online or offline.
- For JRF the age of the candidates should not be exceeded 28 years. There will be 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidates.
- For Lectureship there is no limit in upper age of the candidates.
- Candidates should have passed in 4 years degree course in BE /B TECH /B Pharmacy /MBBS/ Integrated MS course/ M. Sc with 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates ) from a recognized university/Institute.
How to Apply
The application mode for UGC NET 2014 will be both online and offline mode. Candidates can get the Information Booklet of UGC NET 2014 personally from the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce situated across India. Candidates will also able to get the booklets by post with sending the demand drafts made in favor of “Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi” payable at New Delhi. The fees for the general candidates will be Rupees 400/-, for OBC candidates it will be Rupees 200/- and for SC/ST/PH candidates it will be Rupees 100/-. The UGC NET 2014 Information Booklet will be likely to be available in the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of commerce by 2nd week of February 2014. The sale of the Information Booklet will likely to be close by last week of February.
Candidates ho want to apply online can go to the official CSIR site and can apply there by fill the form online from the 2nd week of February to last week of February 2014. They have to print out the hard copy of the application form and the bank fees challan which have to pay the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of India. The fees for the different category will be same as the offline procedure mentioned fees. Both online and offline candidates have to send their forms with fees receipt and the challan to CSIR office by the 1st week of March, 2014.
Examination and Paper Pattern
The entrance examination for UGC NET 2014 will be conducted by UGC in the last week of June 2014. The admit cards for the entrance examination will be download by the candidates by 3rd week of June 2014. UGC will prepare a list course wise for the candidates had choice for. The entrance examination will be conducted in six different courses i.e. life sciences, Physical sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth sciences. Papers will be conducted in two sessions where in first session will be from 9 AM to 12 PM and second session will be from 2 PM to 5 PM.
In first session Life science, physical Science and Earth science papers will be conducted and in the evening session Engineering Science, Mathematical Science and Chemical science papers will be conducted. Each papers will carry 200 marks with three hours duration. The detailed syllabus is available in the information booklet.
